How do I troubleshoot problems with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express?

The best help for this comes from Mircrosoft. Here is a good place to start

To look up a specific error message, write down or copy the error message number. It will look something like this "0x800ccc15" and be at the end of the error message generated by Outlook.
Go to msn.com and type or paste this number into the search field. You will get a list of articles that relate to this problem and may help you or your computer adminstrator help you fix it.
You can also take the text from the error message and put it in the search box on the Microsoft site. This will help you narrow your search. |
Can't send mail - Receive mail ok, what's up.

I am on a dialup and away from the office.The challenge is that I can receive email and run around on the web, but I cannot send email. I have tried changing my email settings to only a dialup, and trying both the options for offline use. So, what do you think is going on?
